Capo Super Corsa Thermo Roubaix Bib Tights Info

Winter training gets easier in the Capo Super Corsa Thermo Roubaix Bib Tights, full-length bib tights that Capo engineered for rides between 40 and 60 degrees F. The Italian Thermo Roubaix fabric is cut to an anatomic pattern, and it is made to give lightweight, stretchy insulation without bulk.

For this season Capo redesigned the front panel to be seamless and says it eliminates chafing. An articulated knee and a lower seam count add comfort over long base miles. Medium-gauge compression supports working muscles, which Capo says helps fight fatigue.

The 360 degree stretch mesh bib uppers come from the Padrone Aero line and are designed to secure the tights without binding. The chamois is the Road Performance EIT, a multi-density elastic foam insert. Reflective inserts and a heat transfer logo help you stay visible after dark. The fabric is 86% polyamide and 14% elastane, and the tights are made in Italy. They come in black, sizes XS through XXL.

The RA Perspective

These are the Super Corsa tights for the long stretch of the year when shorts are too cold and heavy winter gear is too much. Capo rates them for 40 to 60 degrees F, a range that covers much of fall, spring and a lot of mild winter days.

We like what Capo did with the construction. A seamless front panel and fewer seams overall mean fewer places for rubbing on a 4-hour ride, and the articulated knee keeps the fabric from pulling when you pedal. The chamois is the Road Performance EIT, the mesh bib is secure without being restrictive, and the compression is medium, so the tights feel snug, not squeezed.

Be realistic about the range. Thermo Roubaix is a lightweight insulation, so these will not be enough for a sub-freezing morning without extra layers on top. They also have no wind-blocking panels, so on a windy descent in the 40s you may feel it. Leg warmers or a heavier tight are the better pick for deep cold.

For riders who log winter base miles outdoors, this is a sensible everyday tight to start with, and it pairs well with the Super Corsa thermal jersey and vest.
