Custom OPEN U.P.PER. 2.0 Gravel Bikes

The OPEN U.P.PER. 2.0 is the ultralight version of the bike that helped define gravel — same geometry and same Wire-Stay compliance as the U.P. 2.0, but with a lighter carbon layup for sharper response and the lowest possible build weight. Designed by Gerard Vroomen and Andy Kessler in Basel, Switzerland, and built by hand in Portugal. Aero tube shaping up front where airflow is clean, tuned flex in the rear for comfort over rough terrain, and clearance for 35–46mm tires. T47 threaded bottom bracket, UDH rear hanger, Smartmount 160 direct-mount disc brakes, and the OPEN B.A.R. one-piece cockpit with adjustable stem length come standard.

Choose your groupset below — Shimano Di2, SRAM AXS, or Campagnolo Super Record WRL — and we'll build your U.P.PER. 2.0 to spec. Custom builds for the OPEN U.P. 2.0 are also available.

About the OPEN U.P.PER. 2.0

OPEN was founded in 2012 by Andy Kessler, former CEO of BMC, and Gerard Vroomen, co-founder and lead designer of Cervélo. The idea was simple — build a small number of exceptional bikes without corporate compromise. The original U.P. helped prove that a single frame could handle road speed and gravel confidence equally well, and the 2.0 generation sharpens that formula with aero front-end shaping, a T47 threaded bottom bracket, UDH compatibility, and the B.A.R. cockpit system with 15mm of adjustable stem length in 5mm increments. The U.P.PER. 2.0 and U.P. 2.0 share identical geometry and ride DNA — the difference is in the carbon layup. The U.P.PER. 2.0 uses OPEN's ultralight layup for riders who want the sharpest, lightest build possible. The U.P. 2.0 keeps the same ride feel in a more accessible package with extra mounting points under the top tube for frame bags. Both are available as custom builds at RA Cycles with Shimano Di2, SRAM AXS, or Campagnolo Super Record WRL across five sizes from XS to XL, each with size-specific fork crown tuning.
