Custom Moots Vamoots Titanium Road Bikes

Moots was founded by Kent Eriksen in 1981 as a small frame shop in the back of Sore Saddle Cyclery in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Eriksen and his team were among the earliest builders of what would become the modern mountain bike, and by 1991 they had committed fully to titanium — a material they believed offered the ideal balance of strength, ride quality, and longevity. Over four decades later, every Moots frame is still welded and finished in that same Steamboat Springs facility, from U.S.-sourced titanium, by builders who ride the roads and trails surrounding the shop. The Vamoots lineup at RA Cycles spans three distinct titanium road platforms. The Vamoots 33 — named for Routt County Road 33 — is built from straight-gauge 3/2.5 titanium with BSA threading and clearance for 38mm tires with fenders. The Vamoots RCS steps up to double-butted RSL tubing and 35mm clearance for riders who want a faster, lighter titanium frame that still handles mixed surfaces. The Vamoots CRD is the flagship — RSL titanium with a fully integrated Enve cockpit and Chris King headset and bottom bracket, built purely for the road with 32mm clearance. All three feature Moots' signature 3D-printed flat-mount dropouts and the hand-finished welds the brand is known for.
