The Scott Spark RC is a fast and lightweight cross county bike with a full suspension that is fast on any trail. Built with feedback from elite athletes, it delivers 120mm of front and rear travel, making it highly capable on increasingly technical XC courses. This version comes with a RockShox SID Select fork and Nude 5 shock. The frame is engineered with HMF carbon, combining low weight with great strength and a reasonable price. Designed around a 55mm chain line, the Spark RC ensures optimal power transfer while accommodating up to a 40T chainring. The frame has clearance for two water bottles for long race days. With race-focused geometry, the Spark RC is efficient on climbs, stable on descents, and perfectly balanced for high-speed performance.
The Scott Spark RC features an advanced suspension layout, built around a single pivot with a flex stay for reduced unsprung mass and improved efficiency. Scott’s patented Integrated Suspension Technology places the rear shock inside the frame, enhancing power transfer and maintaining a low center of gravity for better handling. This design reduces lateral movement in the shock, ensuring precise response, while also fully protecting it from dirt and moisture. Access to the shock is easy via a bottom bracket hatch, allowing riders to adjust sag, rebound, and compression without hassle.
Scott’s TwinLoc Suspension System pairs with the shock for on-the-fly adjustments. It has three ride modes—Descend, Traction Control, and Lockout—controlled by a handlebar remote that adjusts the shock, fork, and frame geometry simultaneously. Lockout mode maximizes efficiency for sprints and smooth climbs, while Traction Control mode optimizes power transfer and grip on technical terrain. When fully open in Descend mode, the suspension delivers maximum compliance and control. The TwinLoc remote also integrates dropper post actuation, keeping all controls within easy reach for seamless operation. This adaptability makes the Spark RC a race bike that can quickly adjust to any course condition.
The Spark RC balances stiffness and lightweight construction for a responsive ride that is ready for the technical terrain of modern cross country. The frame features dedicated stiffness and lightweight zones, allowing for weight savings in key areas without compromising structural integrity. Integrated headset cups allow riders to adjust the head angle by 0.6 degrees without cutting cables or bleeding brakes. Bearings are sealed for durability, and chainstay protection reduces noise and wear. The result is a race machine that feels stable at high speeds while remaining nimble enough for aggressive technical sections.
The front end of the Spark RC is complete with Syncros components, providing an intuitive and reliable front end. It also features a SRAM Eagle GX AXS groupset, offering 12-speed electronic shifting made for MTB riders at a great price.
