It features 0.88mm Free material on the sleeves, underarm, and upper back. It’s actually comprised of five layers and is still less than 1mm. It moves as easily as spandex. Because it’s so thin, they needed to do something to keep you warm. So they coated this super-thin neoprene with titanium on the inside to reflect heat back to your body.
The 0.88 Free is only one of the Yamamoto neoprene fabrics employed in the Predator. Orca likes mixing different thickness neoprene to improve buoyancy and set you up in a more efficient position. Like the Aerodome 2 neoprene shaped with Exo-Lift texturing employed in the lower front and back panels, to lift you up. Core Lateral Stabilizer panels are used on the central sides to better support your muscles and add strength. These will make the suit feel a bit stiff when pulling it on and standing around, but, once in the water, you’ll feel like you’re supported by a surfboard.
The outside panels are coated with Nano Ice SCS, Super Composite Skin, which has even less drag than Orca’s standard SCS. This coating increases speed by repelling water, thus reducing friction. The drag coefficient is .026, compared to the 4.0 of standard neoprene.
The inside is lined with Infinity Skin. It’s a high-stretch nylon bonded to the neoprene that feels good and aids in stretch, making the suit more flexible and comfortable.
