Orca 3.8 Wetsuit Info
The 3.8 Wetsuit is Orca’s most buoyant in their line. It looks simple, but employs a mix of different neoprene panels to not only keep you higher in the water and improve your efficiency.
It’s so good that the Tri Gear Geek reviewer found he saved 12 seconds per lap on his normal test loop. The key was being both tight and flexible.
The mix of six different Yamamoto neoprene includes 5mm Aerodrome panels around the lower back and upper legs and 4mm thick core lateral stabilizer panels. These might make the suit feel a bit stiff when you’re putting it on, but once in the water, it feels as if you’ve got a surfboard beneath you, holding you up in the water and allowing you to kick more powerfully. For the arms, they build with 1.5mm 40cell neoprene for flexibility, both in the shoulders and under the arms. Thanks to this, your stroke will not only free, but it will be free to maximize your efficiency in the water. The outside panels are coated with SCS, Super Composite Skin, which increases speed by repelling water, thus reducing friction.
And that’s just the outside. The inside is lined with Infinity Skin. It’s a high-stretch nylon bonded to the neoprene that feels good and aids in stretch.
The result of the fabric mix is a suit unlike any you’ve tried. Faster you’ll go with greater comfort. The Orca 3.8 Wetsuit makes hard swims easier.
