Ultra-distance events can drain your favorite Garmin fitness device to zero before you’ve crossed the finish line. The Garmin Charge Power Pack provides up to an additional day of juice so that you can save every second of your event for later reviewing and social media glory.
It’s an external rechargeable battery. The Power Pack was initially designed to mate directly with the Garmin Edge 1030 through the extended out-front mount that comes with the 1030. You twist the 1030 into the top half, twist the Power Pack into the lower half and they’re connected directly, and boom, you have an extra 24 yours of life for your head unit.
However, it’s also designed to work as an on-the-go charging device for many other Garmin units. Those include the Edge 1000, 520, 820, Explore 820, and the Forerunner 545, 645 Music, and 935. You use the included USB cable to connect the Power Pack to the unit. That cable is also how you charge the unit, though you’ll need to source the transformer separately.
