Campagnolo Record 11s (11x23) Cassette Info

The Campagnolo Record Eleven-Speed Cassette is the perfect cassette for their Record 11 Group. It matches not only the performance of the Record group, but also the aesthetics.

First, a word on spacing. All Campagnolo cassettes have the same eleven-speed spacing, designed to work with all Campagnolo eleven-speed shifting systems, which is pretty much identical to eleven-speed spacing across the industry. The difference that is essential to know is that the splines on the inside of the cogs match the splines of Campagnolo and Campagnolo-compatible cassette bodies only, specifically those cassette bodies for 9/10/11-speed rear wheels. These cassette bodies are standard on Campagnolo wheels, and are an option for many after-market wheels.

Campagnolo’s cogs are different from the pack in that they utilize Campagnolo’s Ultra-Shift Teeth design, which is the ramps and cuts in the cogs that speed shifts. Each and every tooth is designed to perform a specific function of raising or lowering the chain on the cassette. This, not only makes shifts faster, but makes it easier to shift under load.

Campagnolo offers the Record 11 Cassette in seven cassette combinations:  11-23, 11-25, 11-27, 11-29, 12-25, 12-27, and 12-29. The 11-25 weighs 211g, including the lock ring, which is included with the cassette.

The tallest three cogs are made of titanium, and riveted to a carrier to both save weight and protect the cassette body. The tallest cogs, because they have the largest diameters, are the slowest to wear. As a result, the shift to ti’ shouldn’t impact the life of the cassette at all. The next three cogs are also riveted to a carrier to save weight, and are made of steel. The remaining five cogs are made of steel, loose and slide onto the cassette body along with the included spacers.

The Campagnolo Record 11 Cassette is high performing and aesthetically pleasing.
