The Yeti SB140 29 LR T3 is a mid-travel trail bike that strikes the perfect balance of all-mountain riding. The LR version is more fun and stable with a wider handlebar and slacker headtube. It is a great climber but can tackle a descent with amazing speed and control. It is also ready to hit high speeds and roll over tough terrain with 29-inch wheels and is made for jumping. This version features a high-level build with DT Swiss XM1700 alloy wheels. It is also equipped with a SRAM X0 Eagle T-Type Transmission that mounts to the rear axle for high-level 12-speed electronic shifting. Simply put, the Yeti SB140 29 is one of the most versatile machines to grace the trail.
The frame of the SB140 29 is made with TURQ carbon fiber. This material is their highest quality fiber for a perfect balance of stiffness and compliance. This results in a ride that feels smooth, stable, and aggressive. The low weight carbon makes the bike easy to control while bouncing around on uneven and technical terrain. Having such a high quality carbon that remains stiff and light results in faster pedaling and a livelier and more fun ride. The build of the Yeti SB140 frame keeps riders feeling fast, efficient, and in control of every line, jump and transition.
To truly turn that carbon into a frame that can do it all, Yeti incorporated a specific geometry for each of their size options. This means that every rider has a bike that will feel custom made for their body. Chainstay length is increased with each size to help the rear center of the bike be proportionately correct for each size of rider. Seat tube angles are also different for each size. It has a forward geometry which helps riders with a racing posture keep their center of gravity as they push for speed. The reach is long enough for short stem lengths but is not overdone. A slightly higher stack makes climbs more comfortable and descents more capable.
Cementing its place as a true all-mountain machine, the Yeti SB140 has a unique suspension that is perfect for any type of ride you want to attack. This version is equipped with a Fox Factory Float X rear shock for 140mm of elite rear travel. It combines with an equally elite Fox Factory 36 Grip2 fork for 160mm of travel at the front. It is powered by the redesigned Switch Infinity V2 which provides the best riding experience paired with the standard shock. It changes directions as your bike progresses through its travel, creating a tailored anti-squat curve and a fine-tuned leverage ratio. A compact Wishbone Shock Extender optimizes leverage rate and pushes the shock forward in the frame to allow for a wider range of shock compatibility, easier service, and more clearance. The Yeti SB140 LR 29 is one of the most fun bikes you can bring on the trail.
