SRAM Force 1 Right Side Shifter Info

The best way to execute single-ring shifting is to have a single dual control lever on your drop handlebars. SRAM’s Force 1 Right Side Shifter allows you to set up Force 1x shifting without having the expense or weight of having dual-controls on both sides of your bar.

The Force 1 Right Side Shifter is just that. Weighing only 154g, coming with brake cable and housing, it’s what you need to work the rear derailleur, your only derailleur on a 1x system. And, if you happen to break your right side lever on a double-ring (2x) setup, this will work as the replacement as well.

If you know the story with SRAM DoubleTap shifting and dual-control levers, the story is the same. It’s the same body, same action, same innards. Quick tap shifts into smaller cogs, big push shifts into taller cogs. This has always been the DoubleTap story, but the action has been refined over the years. It moves faster, feels smoother, and ergonomics have been improved. Helping this along is their ZeroLoss action. They didn’t like the lag time they felt between some shifters and shift action at the derailleur. So they designed their system to engage the moment the shifter is moved.

Let’s tackle ergo. They call it ErgoDynamics, it’s their effort to make every part of the system more comfortable. They’ve not only optimized the hood shape for easy grasping, but they’ve lengthened and curved the brake lever blade, tweaked the shape of the shift paddle, and have included independent reach adjustments for both the brake lever and the shifter. This way, you’ll have an easy time, no matter the length of your fingers or the curve of the bars. They’ve even, btw, redesigned the clamp, which attaches the shifter to the bars. It’s easier to fit and adjust to modern bar materials and curves.

The SRAM Force 1 Right Side Shifter mates with both 1x and 2x rear derailleurs.
