Rotor PF4624 MTB (Pressfit 30) to 24mm Steel Bottom Bracket Info
Installing 24mm thru-axle mountain bike cranks on a PressFit 30 standard bottom bracket just got easier thanks to Rotor’s PF4624 bottom bracket with steel bearings.
The name PF4624 tells you what you need to know. PF is for press fit. 46 for 46mm inner shell diameter. 24 for 24mm thru-axle diameter. This bottom bracket is for the PressFit 30 frames, which feature a 46mm inner diameter on the lip of the opening. PF30 mtb frames have a 73mm shell width. The 24mm diameter refers to the inner diameter of the bearings, which matches the 24mm exterior diameter of the thru-axle that fits this bracket.
Rotor’s MTB 3D24 cranks work with this standard. As do Shimano cranks. And FSA’s MegaExo cranks.
The bearings are steel balls installed in steel races. The BB itself is machined 7075-T6 aluminum and anodized for a great look. You press in one side, insert the sleeve, press in the other. Weight for the set is 137g.
The Rotor PF4624 sets your PressFit 30 MTB frame up with a bottom bracket for 24mm cranks. The steel bearings are set wide, hidden under an aluminum shell and silicone seals, and will provide trouble-free riding.
