Brake pads matter. Reynolds designed these Cryo-Blue Power Brake Pads in conjunction with their carbon rim laminate to make sure you have the best braking possible.
While the pads are designed to work with conventional brake shoes, choices are Shimano/SRAM compatible and Campagnolo-compatible, the rest of the design is a departure from the norm. A new shape that is wider, resulting in a 44% larger pad surface area, for more stopping power. There are also six angled slots that move hot air away from the pad. With these two innovations, the pads deliver a 33% increase in stopping power when the conditions are dry, and a 42% increase in stopping power in the wet.
It’s an upgrade you should make before your pads wear out. And, considering your Reynolds wheels warranty stipulates Reynolds pad use, it’s a good idea to use Reynolds pads regardless.
