The R in Race Face’s Turbine R Wheelset is for Rally. It’s an all-purpose aluminum-rimmed tubeless off-road wheel, light enough for xc, tough enough for enduro. And comes in both 27.5” and 29er sizes.

They started with the idea that they wanted to make an everyday, super-tough, versatile wheelset that they’d be happy on their fanciest rigs. And the first place they went to work was at the rim. It’s a 6069 aluminum alloy extrusion, shaped 30mm wide (internal) and 20mm deep. The width can handle tires 1.9” to 2.7” wide. They drilled it for 28 spokes. It comes taped and valved for tubeless.

They laced the rim with straight-pull spokes to their Vault hubs, which have wide, tall flanges for greater stiffness, and wide-set bearings for system durability. There are both standard and Boost hubs available. The standard are 100x15 front and 142x12 rear thru-axles. These can be converted to quick-release as well as 135x15 rear and 20x100mm front with the addition of accessory end caps, including torque caps. All hubs have six-bolt mounting only.

The wheels come with five spare spokes—as the hubs are three-cross, 28 hole front and rear, these will work on both front and rear. The hubs are set for six-bolt rotors only.

The Race Face Turbine R Wheelset weighs 1730g for the 27.5” and 1815g for the 29”.
