PRO 3-Spoke Clincher Front Wheel Info
Tri-spoke front wheels are stiff and fast but handle better in crosswinds than discs. PRO’s 3-Spoke Clincher Front Wheel makes it easy to have this fast hoop gracing the front end of your timed event bike. That it’s a clincher is great for fast tire fixes in the midst of timed events.
The wheel is constructed just like PRO’s disc wheels. 3K Carbon 2x2 Twill weave exterior walls, foam core interior, and a wide aluminum rim on the outside. The rim has machined brake tracks for reliable all-weather braking. There’s a Shimano Ultegra 6800 hub for the central movement. The rim is wide, so the minimum recommended tire width is 24mm.
The rim depth is 65mm, not exactly great for hilly events, but super on flat to rolling courses. Weight for the wheel is 1040g. The depth of the rim necessitates a valve 80mm long, either on its own or with a valve extender. You can use dual-sided tape to secure a speedometer magnet to the wheel.
