The Fizik Aliante R3 Versus Evo Saddle substitutes stainless steel Kium rails for carbon-fiber to bring the costs down at a small weight penalty. The Aliante shape has a long and successful history as Fizik’s curved saddle. And the Versus Evo channel adds substantial comfort.
Fizik, through their Spine Concept, have deemed it the saddle for bulls. People who have low back flexibility and high pelvic rotation. All the same, that’s just a guide. If you have a preference for curved seats or like a perch that guides you to a specific spot, you’ll like the Aliante shape.
The saddle is 280mm long by 139mm wide in Regular and 275 x 150mm in Large. It always had a good bit of comfort thanks to the Wing Flex design of the sides. The R3 label means they combine stainless steel rails and a carbon-reinforced nylon composite shell.
The rest of the saddle is built as you’d expect from Fizik. They cover the shell, save the channel, with comfort core foam. Then they cover the foam with Microtex, a tough, light, weather-resistant synthetic leather.
The Fizik logo in back covers their integrated clip system for lights and bags.
