Deda Murex Stem Info
The Deda Murex Stem is a thoroughly modern way to attach your handlebars to a bike with a threaded steerer.
First, yes, this is a quill stem. Just like in the older days. As with most quill stems, this is for 1” steerer tubes. As it is fairly traditional in the way it attaches to your bike, it also is traditional in that it works with 26mm diameter handlebars only.
It departs from tradition in one way. There are two bolts underneath the stem that secures your bars to your bike. It’s a removable faceplate, just one oriented in an aero position. The removable faceplate is great for travel and adjustment and makes installing and removing a cinch.
The Deda Murex Stem comes in three lengths, 80, 100, and 120mm. It comes in two finishes, Silver Matte or Silver Polished. Weight is 310g.
