Assos rainGloves_evo7 Info
Waterproof gloves on their own have limited value to cyclists, as water inevitably seeps in from the wrist. That’s why Assos has improved their rainGloves_evo7. They accept the fact that your hands are going to be wet. They might as well be comfortable and secure.
The material of choice is neoprene. They choose to build it differently, build it the Assos way. First, they opt for 3-D construction in the fingers, which makes it easier to get your digits in, and easier to bend them to grasp the handlebars. Second, they work with a low-volume variant of neoprene to further aid dexterity.
Thinking of the whole ride, they’ve put strips of silicone on the back of the forefingers so that you have an easy and clean way to wipe your specs without grinding dirt into the lenses.
Flip to the palm and you’ll encounter a grippy application that feels like the male side of Velcro strips. Because it doesn’t absorb water, the countless, tiny hooks grip even when shiny bar tape is covered in a layer of water.
At the bottom is a separate cuff panel. This sits below the wrist and is on the comfortable side between the poles of tight and loose. It’s super-close, but doesn’t restrict.
Assos puts this glove in their ClimaX range, which means it works year ‘round. In warmer rains, it can be worn on its own. As it gets cooler, you can put a liner glove on underneath, they like the Tiburu. And, when it gets colder, a shell on top, like their shellGloves.
The Assos rainGloves_evo7 makes your waterlogged rides more comfortable.
