Assos is promoting the shaq.Uno as their entry-level jacket, which is a bit mystifying since it is hardly entry-level quality, and the price is in line with what most Assos jackets cost. It has a two layer system which is intended to insulate and keep you protected from the wind. The interior layer is made from the Assos RX soft fleece fabric, which stretches in two directions. That means it hugs you snugly while moving with every muscle twitch. But the best thing about the RX fabric is just how wonderfully plush and pleasing it feels against your skin. It is specially designed to wick sweat away from your skin, so you’ll never get that cool, clammy feel no matter how hard you’re working in the cold climes. It’s also important to note that with the proper care using gentle wash cycles, the RX retains is plushy feel even with repeated use and washings.
 
The second layer is a protection shell that is ergonomically shaped to fit your body closely. Though the two layers are not bonded, they are attached at key points so that they move in unison but never feel restrictive when you are reaching for your rear pockets or leaning down to wipe some debris from your tires on the go. The air pocket that results from the unbonded layers works as a heat regulating chamber so that excess heat and moisture are transferred out and allowed to evaporate, while no cold air or rain is allowed in.
