Fizik Arione R3 K:ium Saddle Info
The Fizik Arione R3 Saddle has a style so classic, it’s hard to believe it’s been around since only the start of the 21st Century. This is the flattest saddle of the Fizik lineup, and that flatness is what many riders find so appealing.
The Arione is also the longest saddle of the Fizik lineup. The Large Arione measures 300mm long by 142mm wide and weighs 210g. The Regular Arione is not only long, but narrow, going out to 130mm wide at the widest. It weighs 200g.
In the realm of Fizik’s Spine Concept, the Arione shape is for those with high body flexibility and no pelvic rotation while pedaling. Whether or not you buy into their concept is up to the individual. Others like the flat shape because they prefer to move around freely on their saddle and like the long nose.
The shell is a composite nylon that is fairly flexible laterally. This means that the rear of the saddle will move out of your way when you’re on it. They call this Wing Flex. K:ium rails support the shell. K:ium is a proprietary tubular steel alloy eight percent lighter than titanium, and with titanium-like corrosion resistance. The rails are marked to the millimeter for precision fitting. The cover is made of Microtex, a smooth, tough synthetic leather that wears well. There are actually three panels of Microtex, a main and two side pieces. The sides are also Microtex, but have a different finish. As with all Fizik saddles, the Fizik logo in the back detaches to reveal a mounting point for Fizik Integrated Clip System accessories, a line that includes both lights and bags.
The Fizik Arione R3 Saddle gives you plenty of room to find your sweet spot.
