The XLAB Mini Cage Pod provides the same service as the Mezzo Cage Pod, but can hold slightly less stuff. That’s not to suggest that it can’t hold everything you would need for a normal mechanical fix. You can carry it on a frame-mounted bottle cage or stick it in one of your rear hydration cages if you want to avoid causing any extra drag. It really works so well and quickly you’ll wonder why you’ve been fussing with bags all these years. Instead of unclipping straps and working zippers, you just grab it out of the cage, twist the top off, and have immediate access to all your repair items. And since it is waterproof, you can feel comfortable carrying things like a wallet, money clip, and even your phone in the pod. A microfleece bag is included so that any tools you do carry don’t nosily rattle around. And if you aren’t carrying anything in it because you donated a tube to a friend, it will still fit perfectly snugly in the cage, with no fear of launching. It fits all XLAB cages since it has a complementary design to match the XLAB cages’ groove, though it will likely fit just about any cage on the market.

The Mini Cage Pod is the smaller of the two pod options from XLAB, and has a 500ml capacity. With the microfleece bag, it weighs just 56g. The XLAB Mini Cage Pod will sit unobtrusively ride after ride until the day you need it, and then you’ll feel very smart.
