Scott Spark RC Team Issue Bike Info
The Scott Spark RC Team Issue Bike puts the same carbon chassis Scott's World Cup cross-country race team competes on into a production build accessible to serious riders. The "Team Issue" designation refers to the Spark RC Carbon HMF frame — High Modulus Fiber, built using Scott's Evo-Lap layup process that models and optimizes carbon fiber placement for stiffness, compliance, and impact resistance — with a component spec anchored by SRAM GX Eagle AXS wireless shifting, RockShox SID Select suspension, and four-piston hydraulic disc brakes. At $5,999.99, it's the entry point into the Spark RC lineup for riders who want the frame first and can upgrade components later.
Integrated Suspension and Flex Pivot
Scott's Integrated Suspension Technology positions the rear shock inside the frame behind the seat tube. Moving the shock inward lowers the bike's center of gravity, stiffens the overall chassis, and shields the shock body from mud, debris, and direct trail impact — conditions that degrade performance and reliability on technical XC courses. The Flex Pivot rear suspension uses a direct-mount pivot design that minimizes friction and stiction at the rear axle, improving small-bump sensitivity without sacrificing the climbing efficiency that XC racing demands. The RockShox NUDE 5 RL3 Trunnion shock carries custom Scott tuning specific to the Spark RC's suspension kinematics and delivers three operating modes: Lockout for sustained power output on climbs, Traction Control for mixed terrain, and Descend for technical sections. Rear travel is adjustable between 120mm and 80mm depending on course demands.
TwinLoc Remote and Adjustable Geometry
The RockShox SID Select 3P Air fork runs 120mm of travel with a Charger RL three-mode damper that mirrors the rear shock's three settings. Scott's TwinLoc system ties them together: a single input from the bar switches both the fork and rear shock simultaneously — lockout for the climb, open for the descent, without taking a hand off the bar or managing two separate remotes. Geometry tuning goes further through the Syncros-Acros headset, which integrates cable routing for the Syncros Cable Integration System and allows the head angle to be adjusted ±0.6 degrees simply by rotating the headset cups 180 degrees. No cable cuts, no brake bleeding. On courses where handling character matters — tighter, more technical lines versus fast and open — that adjustment changes how the bike sits in corners and responds to rider input on steep descents.
GX Eagle AXS and Syncros Carbon Cockpit
The drivetrain is SRAM GX Eagle AXS Transmission — wireless, 12-speed, with a 34T chainring and a 10-52 XS-1275 cassette. The AXS Pod controller handles shifting from the bar, and the SRAM AXS Powerpack is included. SRAM Motive Bronze four-piston hydraulic disc brakes provide reliable stopping power at both ends, with 180mm Centerlock rotors up front and 160mm rear — sizing appropriate for the gradient and speed of technical XC descents. The Syncros Fraser iC SL XC integrated carbon cockpit (740mm wide) runs internal cable routing through the stem and bar junction, eliminating exposed housing between the bar and headset and cleaning up the front of the bike structurally as much as visually. Syncros Silverton 1.0 wheels (30mm internal width, tubeless-ready) come wrapped in Maxxis Rekon Race tires at 29x2.4 in EXO casing — a fast-rolling XC race tire with enough casing protection to handle trail debris. The Syncros Duncan 1.5XC dropper post runs 100mm of drop on every size, which is now standard equipment on modern XC race bikes. Available in sizes S through XL in Twinkle Green.
