The Rotor FLOW Aero Crankset was designed to answer a question most aero cranks get wrong: what if you didn't have to trade stiffness for aerodynamics? Built on the same architecture as Rotor's 3D+ crank, the FLOW delivers genuine aero time savings — around 6 seconds over a 40km time trial at 200W — without the weight penalty and flex that compromise most dedicated aero cranksets.
The aerodynamic case for the FLOW is grounded in how air actually behaves around a crankset in motion. By the time airflow reaches the crank, it has already been disrupted by the front wheel and fork — meaning the turbulent air at that point offers less resistance than calm laminar airflow would. Rotor's performance-focused arm profile exploits that environment rather than designing around an idealized wind tunnel scenario. The result is a crankset that functions equally well on an aero road bike or a dedicated TT and triathlon setup. Stiffness is maintained through Rotor's Trinity Drilling System — three full-depth holes drilled from axle to pedal eye — which resists both bending and twisting forces more effectively than conventional hollow-tube crank arm construction.
