Lightweight’s Bugelhalter Carbon Stem is highly engineered to do a simple job. It holds your steerer tube and your handlebars. It does it with a carbon-fiber body and a super-light 110g weight for the 100mm length.
Lightweight builds light, of course. But they also build strong. They don’t build as light as they can; they build as strong as you need. And then some.
Take this stem. It’s comprised of many carbon-fiber plies, fabricated through a complicated lay-up process to maximize strength. Lightweight even sent out the stem for testing before bringing it to market. It was tested and passed the European EFBE standard. EFBE does fatigue testing, maximal load and overloading, and rigidity. Lightweight passed on all counts.
They designed the stem to work with Kompaktbugel and Rennbugel handlebars, though it will work with most handlebars on the market today.
The Bugelhalter also has titanium bolts, two for securing the steerer tube and four for securing the handlebar in the stem. Maximum torque recommendation is 4.5Nm for the bolts.
The steerer clamp works with 1 1/8” steerers. The handlebar clamp works with 31.8mm bars.
