Where the original CX400 was known for its heat-moldable fit, this evolution takes a different direction: a race-last construction that's anatomically correct from the first ride, no oven required. At the core of the CX400 is Lake's CX/TX RACE last, the most performance-oriented shape in the Lake lineup. It runs narrower through the toe box and tighter in the heel than Lake's Competition last, with less overall volume than the Sport last. That translates to a secure, close-fitting feel designed for high-cadence efforts where foot movement inside the shoe costs you watts.
