ISM

The nose of a traditional saddle concentrates pressure on soft tissue — and for long efforts, that discomfort is cumulative. ISM removed the problem at its source: a split, noseless design that shifts weight to the sit bones and eliminates the pressure that causes numbness on longer rides. For triathletes, time trialists, and road cyclists who’ve cut rides short because of saddle discomfort, the ISM approach offers a different kind of starting point.

The RA Cycles ISM collection spans five performance series. The PN (Performance Narrow) saddles are built for riders in an aggressive, forward-leaning position — the core triathlon and time trial option. The PS (Performance Short) and PL (Performance Long) variants address different reach and positioning preferences. The PR (Performance Recreation) series is designed for road cyclists, and the PM (Performance Mountain) handles the more upright geometry of off-road riding. Most models are available in black and white.

About ISM

ISM was founded by Steve Toll, an avid cyclist based in Tampa, Florida. In 1997, following a painful ride with his wife, Toll sketched a design for a noseless saddle he believed could eliminate the discomfort caused by traditional saddle geometry. By 1999, the design was patented — a meaningful development in an industry where saddle design had gone largely unchanged for decades. RA Cycles carries the full ISM performance lineup. The PN saddles are the narrowest and most aggressive, designed for triathletes and time trialists who ride with significant forward lean. The PS models offer a shorter profile for riders with a more compact positional preference, while PL saddles extend forward for greater reach. The PR series serves road cyclists looking for the noseless benefit in a more traditional riding position, and the PM 2.0 is built for the body angle and terrain demands of mountain biking.
