The alternating narrow-wide tooth profile locks the chain into each tooth, keeping it seated through rough terrain without relying on a chain guide. Machined from 7075-T6 aluminium alloy, it carries the strength and low weight that alloy demands in a hard-working drivetrain component.
Race Face machines the ring into an I-beam cross-section with a 4mm-wide plate, adding lateral stiffness where it matters most under load. The 64mm four-bolt BCD mounting works across a broad range of cranks, and the ring is designed to run with 9-, 10-, 11-, and 12-speed chains — so it fits naturally into most existing builds. It can also be paired with a bash guard if your riding demands that extra protection.
