Wilier Rave SLR ID2 Rival XPLR E1 Bike w/Carbon Bar and Carbon Wheels Info
The Wilier Rave SLR ID2 is already one of the most aerodynamically engineered gravel race bikes available. This build takes that further. Spec it with the Wilier F-Bar integrated carbon cockpit, Miche Graff Aero 48 carbon wheels, and SRAM Rival XPLR E1 wireless drivetrain, and you have a complete race-ready package where every major component is working toward the same goal: going faster on gravel without carrying extra weight or drag.
At $7,200, this is what a serious gravel race build looks like when the spec sheet matches the frame's ambition.
SLR Carbon Frame — Aero Engineering for Gravel Racing
The Rave SLR ID2 frame is built on Wilier's SLR carbon — Super Light Rigid construction bringing the frame weight to 990g — and every tube profile was developed in the wind tunnel to reduce drag without sacrificing the tire clearance modern gravel racing demands. The result is an 8.9% reduction in drag over the previous Rave SLR, translating to 5.3 watts saved at 35km/h. Over a 70km race at 350 watts, that's more than 50 seconds returned to your legs.
The NACA-profiled down tube widens at the bottom bracket to shield your water bottles from airflow — one of the largest drag sources on a traditional gravel bike, addressed at the design stage rather than ignored. The fork draws from Wilier's Supersonica SLR road platform with wide stays optimized for larger tires, and fully integrated cable routing eliminates exposed housing throughout.
Tire clearance runs to 52mm with 6mm of frame clearance, expanded from the previous generation's 42mm limit. The frame is 1x-only — designed around single-chainring drivetrains — with a Universal Derailleur Hanger and cassette compatibility up to 52 teeth. Each size from XS to XXL gets individually redesigned tube dimensions to maintain consistent ride characteristics across the range.
Wilier F-Bar — The Integrated Carbon Cockpit
The F-Bar is Wilier's aerodynamic integrated handlebar, and it's one of the defining spec choices on this build. Monocoque carbon construction keeps weight to 380g for the full cockpit — bar and stem together — while the integration eliminates the interface between two separate components and cleans up the front end completely.
On an aero-optimized frame like the Rave SLR ID2, the cockpit is one of the largest remaining drag sources. The F-Bar addresses that directly, continuing the frame's aerodynamic intent through to the rider interface. The profile is shaped for gravel riding — enough flare and drop to give you stable hand positions across long rough sections — without compromising the clean lines the rest of the bike is built around. If you're going to spend on a gravel race frame, matching it with the correct cockpit is the right decision.
SRAM Rival XPLR E1 — RED-Level Tech at an Accessible Price
SRAM's Rival XPLR E1 is the latest generation of their gravel-specific wireless groupset, and the E1 designation signals a meaningful generational update rather than a cosmetic refresh. Rival XPLR E1 brings technology trickling down directly from SRAM's flagship RED lineup, including upgraded brake lever ergonomics with an expanded reach adjust range and one-finger braking that's genuinely effortless — a meaningful upgrade on long descents in rough terrain.
The drivetrain runs 1x13 with a 10-46T cassette, covering the full spectrum from sustained climbing to holding pace on flat fire roads with a 460% gear range. Wireless AXS shifting delivers instant, consistent gear changes with a button press on either lever — no cables to route, no housing to stretch, no mechanical tolerance to manage over a long event. The Full-Mount rear derailleur bolts directly to the UDH interface on the Rave SLR ID2's frame with no hanger to bend or break on rough terrain.
Rival XPLR E1 weighs in at approximately 2,960g — lighter than the previous generation — and the AXS battery ecosystem is shared across SRAM's component range, making charging and spares straightforward.
Miche Graff Aero 48 Carbon Wheels
The Miche Graff Aero 48 wheels are engineered specifically for top-level gravel racing — a 48mm carbon rim profile that provides meaningful aerodynamic benefit on the open sections of a gravel course while staying stable in crosswinds on exposed terrain. Carbon construction keeps rotational weight down where it matters most, and the rim depth is a considered choice: deep enough to be fast, shallow enough to handle the variable conditions that define gravel events.
Paired with a tire in the 35–45mm range, the Graff Aero 48 is optimized for the kind of mixed-surface racing the Rave SLR ID2 was designed for. This isn't a road wheel adapted for gravel — it's a purpose-built race wheel for the discipline.
The Complete Race Package
The Wilier Rave SLR ID2 Rival XPLR E1 with Carbon Bar and Carbon Wheels is for riders who want to show up to a gravel race with nothing left to upgrade. Frame, cockpit, drivetrain, and wheels are all chosen for the same purpose — fast gravel racing — and nothing in this build is a compromise spec waiting to be replaced. If your goal is racing, this is the build that gets you there without needing a second conversation about the wheelset.
