That spread means you can run a larger chainring for real flat-ground speed without giving up the bailout gearing you need when the trail turns steep. Available in Copper, Gold, and Rainbow anodized finishes, it's one of the few cassettes that looks as deliberate as it performs.
The 10-tooth small cog is what enables the wide range without inflating the overall cassette diameter — keeping the package compact while delivering the ratio spread that aggressive trail and enduro riding demands. The XG-1299 is also backwards compatible with Eagle components, so it integrates cleanly into existing Eagle builds rather than requiring a full drivetrain overhaul.
