Rotor QXL Outer Chainring for 4 Bolt Shimano Cranks Info
The Rotor QXL Outer Chainring for 4 Bolt Shimano Cranks takes the principle of oval chainrings further than standard Q-Rings — increasing ovality to 16% compared to the more common 10%. What that means in practice: on a 53-tooth ring, the effective gear size drops to a virtual 49t at the dead spot of your pedal stroke and rises to a virtual 57t at the point of peak power output. Your legs work with their natural strength curve rather than against it.
Rotor recommends these rings for riders who already have time on oval chainrings — the adaptation is faster and the gains more noticeable for those already comfortable with the feel. Five adjustable OCP (Optimum Chainring Position) settings let you tune the ring's orientation to match your individual pedaling style, and a setup guide is included to help you dial in the right position. The ring itself is CNC-machined from 7075 aluminium, with steel shift pins for reliable front derailleur performance. Available in 46t, 52t, and 54t to suit different gearing setups.
