The Rotor Q-Ring Aero Outer Chainring takes the brand's well-established oval chainring concept and closes the plate entirely — a solid, CNC-machined disc of 7075 aluminum where a standard ring would have open cutouts. That construction reduces aerodynamic turbulence as the ring spins, and the added material stiffens the ring, which supports cleaner power transfer and more consistent shifting.
Rotor's oval geometry works on a 10% ovality principle. At the dead spot in the pedal stroke, the effective gear ratio reduces — easing you through where leg power naturally drops off — then increases at the strongest point of the push, where you can actually use the leverage. The result is a smoother, more continuous application of force across the full rotation. Like all Q-Rings, the Aero Outer ships with Rotor's OCP (Optimum Chainring Position) drilling, giving you three mounting positions to tune the oval's orientation to your individual pedal stroke.
