The Park Tool Pin Spanner SPA-1 is built for one job — removing and adjusting the cups on cup-and-cone bottom brackets without slipping, rounding, or improvising. The tool's two hardened steel pins seat directly into the pin holes of adjusting cups, and the adjustable design spans pin holes from 10mm to 45mm apart, covering a wide range of older and current cup-and-cone configurations. The 2.9mm pins fit the standard hole size found on most threaded bottom bracket cups.
The handle is dipped in green vinyl, which does two things: it gives you a comfortable grip during the kind of stubborn, torque-heavy work that bottom bracket servicing often requires, and it makes the SPA-1 immediately identifiable in a drawer full of tools.
