The Pivot Shuttle SL Team XX Eagle Transmission Bike sits at the top of Pivot's Shuttle SL lineup, a lightweight e-MTB built around the idea that an electric trail bike should still ride like one. Pivot calls the platform "Trail Riding's New Pulse," and built it to blur the line between analog and electric rather than lean into raw power the way most e-bikes do. This Team build pairs that lightweight chassis with a full SRAM XX AXS Eagle Transmission drivetrain, putting it at the top of the range both in spec and in price.
Power comes from the Fazua Ride 60 drive unit, a compact motor that produces 60Nm of torque while weighing about 1.96kg, paired with a 450Wh battery. Pivot positions the motor and battery low and close to the bike's center of gravity, which it says is a key part of the Shuttle SL's handling character. Mountain Bike Rider's review of the platform backs that up, calling the Fazua motor "quiet, smooth and efficient" and noting it "offers a very natural ride feel" rather than the abrupt surge some e-MTB motors deliver.
The full carbon frame runs 132mm of rear travel, paired here with a Fox Factory 36 fork set up with 150mm of travel, a 44mm offset, and a GRIP2 damper for control on rougher descents. A Fox Factory Float X shock handles the rear end, a Pivot Precision sealed cartridge headset keeps the front end running smooth, and a Fox Factory Transfer dropper post lets you get the saddle out of the way when the trail points down. It's a suspension package built around Pivot's progressive trail geometry, tuned for confident descending without giving up climbing efficiency on the way back up.
Shifting runs through a SRAM XX AXS Eagle Transmission drivetrain, SRAM's wireless electronic 12-speed system, controlled through an AXS Pod Controller and paired with a 10-52t XS-1297 cassette for a wide gear range. A Rotor EKAPIC E-MTB crank with a 32t chainring handles the e-bike-specific torque loads, while SRAM Motive Ultimate 4-piston brakes and large 200mm front and 180mm rear HS2 rotors give you the stopping power a bike in this weight and speed range needs on long, technical descents.
Reynolds Blacklabel 309 and 289 XC wheels, built on Industry Nine Hydra hubs, carry a mixed tire setup built for aggressive trail riding: a Maxxis Dissector up front and a Minion DHR II out back, both in 29x2.4" with 3C MaxxTerra rubber and tubeless-ready EXO and EXO+ casings. Phoenix Team's carbon handlebar and enduro/trail stem round out the cockpit. The Shuttle SL Team XX is built for riders who want an e-MTB that still feels like a trail bike underneath them — climbing assist when you need it, and a lightweight, precise feel on the way back down. It's available in Aspen White, Black Lime, and Desert Sage Green.
