Assos Mille GTO Fuchsroehre Shell C2 Info
The Assos Mille GTO Fuchsröhre Shell C2 solves a problem most rain shells create: staying dry without cooking yourself alive underneath. This ultralight, 2-layer membrane jacket is built around Sphere Ultra Hole, the newest fabric in Assos' Sphere family of softshells, which uses microperforations across the front and rear panels to let heat and moisture escape while still blocking wind and shedding water. Assos rates it for a wide temperature window, from 39°F up through the high 60s and beyond, which makes it one of the more versatile shells in the Mille GTO lineup rather than a single-condition piece.
Weatherproofing gets reinforced at the shoulders with Silver Storm, a new high-stretch, waterproof textile that's also reflective, adding visibility on top of protection exactly where a jacket takes the brunt of driving rain. The sleeves and back switch to Push Pull, a breathable, high-stretch fabric that keeps the jacket moving with you rather than against you. Assos built the Fuchsröhre in their regularFit, sized for long-distance rides and cut to layer over a jersey or a lighter jacket without binding. Raw cut sleeves and hem strip out the bulk and friction points that come with standard finished seams, and a magnetic zip lets you adjust ventilation on the fly without fighting a zipper pull mid-ride.
This is a wind and light-rain shell first, not a heavyweight insulated jacket — insulation is intentionally minimal so the fabric can prioritize breathability. That makes it the piece to grab when the forecast turns unpredictable: layered over a spring or fall jersey when the wind picks up, or thrown on for a long descent after a climb has you sweating. For riders who want weather protection that doesn't sacrifice breathability, the Fuchsröhre Shell is built to handle the in-between conditions other jackets get wrong.
