CeramicSpeed uses Grade 3 Silicon Nitride ceramic balls, which the manufacturer's testing puts at 400% smoother, 128% harder, and 58% lighter than standard steel balls. They're also rated over 100% smoother and 15% harder than conventional ceramic balls. The balls are seated into hardened steel races and assembled in dust-free clean rooms. CeramicSpeed's own low-friction grease comes pre-installed, with a syringe included for reapplication — a detail that speaks to how seriously the bearing internals are treated. Bearing service life, according to CeramicSpeed, runs three to five times longer than stock. The coated designation refers to the races, which receive additional surface treatment to lower friction further and extend durability.
