3T Ultra 2 Italia Frameset Info
The 3T Ultra 2 Italia Frameset is how you build your own version of 3T's Made-in-Italy adventure gravel platform. At $4,599, the frameset packages the Ultra 2 Italia's Fusion Carbon frame with a complete cockpit and contact points — giving serious builders access to Italian carbon construction while leaving drivetrain, wheels, and braking to personal preference.
The frame uses Fusion Carbon — 3T's hybrid manufacturing method that combines proprietary dry filament winding and Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM) with elements of more conventional carbon layup. It's manufactured at 3T's factory in Presezzo, in the Bergamo province of Italy, where the brand has produced carbon frames since 2018. Fusion Carbon was developed to extend 3T's Made-in-Italy production to a broader range of builds, preserving much of the structural character of continuous-fiber carbon while improving manufacturing efficiency. The Ultra 2 Italia is the first Ultra-family frame built using this process.
The frameset includes more than just the frame. Along with the 3T Fango Ultra 2 rigid fork and sealed cartridge headset, the package covers the 3T More 2 stem, 3T Superghiaia Integrale LTD handlebar, 3T Carbon 27.2mm round seatpost (zero offset), 3T Prendo Tough bar tape, and a 3T Carbon Side Load bottle cage. The More 2 stem and Superghiaia Integrale LTD bar are part of 3T's internally-routed cockpit system — cables route through the bar and stem into the frame, keeping the front end clean without the visible cable runs of conventional setups. Bar width runs 40cm at the hoods and 47.8cm at the drops in sizes S and M, expanding to 42cm and 49.9cm in L and XL.
The Ultra 2 Italia sits at the most relaxed end of 3T's gravel lineup — designed for bikepacking, technical terrain, and long-distance riding rather than short-course racing. Stack heights run 560mm in a size Small up to 620mm in XL, with 10mm more stack than the Extrema Italia across all sizes while sharing the same reach dimensions. Head tube angles slope from 69 degrees in Small to 72 in XL; chainstay length is 437mm across all sizes. The 27.2mm seatpost diameter opens compatibility to dropper and suspension posts, and the frame accepts a suspension fork as an alternative to the included rigid fork. An internal downtube storage compartment with Fidlock closure handles tools and trail essentials on long rides. Multiple mounting points on the frame and fork support bags, racks, and fenders, and the fork includes internal routing for dynamo cables.
Builders specifying this frame need a BB 386EVO press-fit bottom bracket. Front derailleur compatibility is braze-on. Disc brakes must be flat mount; rotors are 160mm only and are not included. Axle standards are 12x100mm front and 12x142mm rear thru axle. Maximum tire clearance with the included rigid fork is 57mm WAM; the frame also accepts the DT Swiss F 132 ONE suspension fork, which reduces clearance to 50mm WAM. Drivetrain compatibility covers wireless and electronic 1x, Shimano GRX Di2 2x12, Campagnolo 2x13, and mechanical 1x and GRX 2x12.
Available in four colors — Lavico, Glicine, Avorio, and Bamboo — in sizes Small through XL.
