Kuota K-Factor Frameset

The Kuota K-Factor Frameset is a full carbon monocoque triathlon frame built by the Italian manufacturer as a more accessible way into a purpose-built TT bike. This frameset includes the matching carbon fork, headset, and seatpost, giving a rider or builder a complete aero platform to spec out with the groupset, wheels, and cockpit of their choice rather than paying for a full build they'll only partly use.

The frame is laid up in a full 12K carbon weave and built as one piece rather than bonded from separate tubes, which is part of what lets Kuota push the head tube taller than most triathlon frames in this category. A taller head tube means a rider can hold a low, aero position on the bar extensions without stacking a tower of headset spacers to get there — spacers that create drag and undercut the aero gains they're supposed to help you reach. It's a small geometry decision with a real effect on how sustainable an aggressive tri position feels over an Ironman-distance ride.

Aerodynamics run through the rest of the frame as well. An air flow channel built into the top tube smooths airflow over the frame's most exposed surface, and a wheel cutout paired with vertical dropouts tightens the gap between the rear wheel and the seat tube, shortening the wheelbase and cutting the turbulence that gap normally creates. According to Kuota, the K-Factor meets some of the same aerodynamic testing benchmarks as the Kalibur, the brand's higher-tier triathlon frame — meaning a rider gets a meaningful share of that flagship's aero performance without the flagship price.

Where the K-Factor differs from a pure race frame like the Kalibur is in who it's built for. The geometry is intentionally more forgiving, fitting a wider range of body types and flexibility levels rather than demanding the extreme hip rotation a stripped-down race geometry requires. That makes it a common choice for age-group triathletes building their first dedicated tri bike, or for someone moving up from a road bike with clip-on aero bars who wants a frame actually designed around the aero position instead of adapted to it. The tradeoff is honest: this isn't the frame for someone chasing the absolute lowest frontal area at the cost of comfort over five or six hours on the course. It's the frame for someone who wants to hold their aero position for the whole ride, not just the first 20 minutes.

Because this is a frameset rather than a complete bike, the build is entirely up to the buyer.
