Custom OPEN U.P. 2.0 Gravel Bikes

The OPEN U.P. 2.0 and U.P.PER. 2.0 are the latest generation of the bike that helped define gravel cycling — designed by Gerard Vroomen and Andy Kessler in Basel, Switzerland, and built by hand in Portugal. Both frames share the same geometry and the same do-everything personality: aero shaping up front where airflow is clean, signature Wire-Stays in the rear for compliance over rough terrain, and clearance for 35–46mm tires. T47 threaded bottom bracket, UDH rear hanger, Smartmount 160 direct-mount disc brakes, and the OPEN B.A.R. one-piece cockpit with adjustable stem length come standard with every chassis.

The U.P. 2.0 delivers the full OPEN experience with extra bag mounts and more color options. The U.P.PER. 2.0 uses an ultralight carbon layup for the sharpest response and lightest possible build. About the OPEN U.P. 2.0

OPEN was founded in 2012 by Andy Kessler, former CEO of BMC, and Gerard Vroomen, co-founder and lead designer of Cervélo. After years running large cycling companies, they started OPEN with a simpler goal — build a small number of exceptional bikes without corporate compromise. The original U.P. helped prove that a single bike could handle road speed and gravel confidence in one frame, and that idea has only gotten sharper with the 2.0 generation. The custom U.P. 2.0 and U.P.PER. 2.0 collection at RA Cycles includes both chassis options and full custom builds with Shimano Di2, SRAM AXS, and Campagnolo Super Record WRL. Five sizes from XS to XL, each with size-specific fork crown tuning so handling stays consistent across the range. The OPEN B.A.R. system lets you fine-tune stem length in 5mm increments without replacing parts — a meaningful advantage when dialing fit for long gravel days.
