The 3T Ultra is designed for taking on the roughest gravel terrain or navigating urban environments. Engineered for versatility, it accommodates 55-61mm 650b tires for optimal off-road grip and high-speed aerodynamics on all surfaces. For less extreme conditions, the frame supports 700c tires up to 46mm WAM (Width as Measured), ensuring adaptability to varied terrain. Every aspect of the Ultra's design begins with the tire, as its shape and dimensions dictate the frame's aerodynamics. Using hundreds of real-world tire measurements, 3T developed its REALFAST aerodynamics to reduce drag and optimize airflow around the frame for speed and efficiency without compromising comfort or grip,.
The Ultra’s standout features include a 60mm downtube that flares to 75mm near the bottom bracket, shielding the water bottle and improving airflow transition. Its aero seat tube integrates seamlessly with a 27.2mm round seatpost, providing flexibility for standard, dropper, or suspension posts. The minimalist fork crown enhances aerodynamics while maintaining stiffness and durability. Paired with double-drop chainstays for improved tire and crank clearance, the frame delivers a responsive and efficient ride. The Ultra’s geometry strikes a balance between road bike speed and gravel capability. Compared to the RaceMax, it prioritizes wide 650b tires for all-terrain aero optimization, while still accommodating narrower 700c options for smoother roads. Unlike the Extrema, which is built for extreme 29 inch tires, the Ultra emphasizes versatility and speed on mixed surfaces. The Primo, with its road-inspired geometry, complements the Ultra’s rugged adaptability by leaning more toward pavement performance.
