Rotor Spider Road for 2x Direct Mount Chainrings Info
The Rotor Aldhu 3D+ Spider is one of the options you have when building up your Aldhu 3D+ crankset. This is one of two options you have when building the cranks. This option allows for any Rotor 110x4 chainring to be used with this crank. The other option is a superlight one-piece chainring/spider combo.
Rotor is expert at machining aluminum. They work with solid blocks of aluminum, machine them down to the minimum, and anodize the result. That result is stiff, as light as can be, without sacrificing durability, and attractive.
The Spider here is just that, a 110x4 spider that is splined in the center. The spider is pushed onto splines on the bottom bracket spindle and then the right crankarm is pushed onto its own set of splines and then secured to the axle. For round rings, this spline system is not terribly important. But for those who like riding Rotor’s Q-Rings, the design is an amazing development. It allows for adjustments in the Q-Ring position of one degree at a time. As a result you can perfectly time the chainring’s highest point to meet with the strongest point of your pedal stroke.
The Rotor Aldhu 3D+ Spider is the second piece of the Aldhu Crank system.
