KMC Bike Chains

KMC is the world’s largest manufacturer of bicycle chains — the Taiwanese company behind the chains that ship on some of the most respected bikes and groupsets on the market. Their range runs from the workhorse X series through the flagship DLC line, where a Diamond Like Carbon coating reduces friction, extends service life, and comes in black with a choice of color-accented plates to match any build.

The RA Cycles KMC collection covers the full performance range: DLC12, DLC11, and DLC10 for the highest-demand drivetrains, the X12 in Aurora oil-slick, gold, and silver finishes for 12-speed setups, the X11SL for 11-speed, and the E11 for e-bike drivetrains. KMC was founded in 1977 in Taoyuan, Taiwan, and has grown into the world’s largest bicycle chain manufacturer. Their chains supply major bike and groupset brands as OEM product worldwide, and their own-label lineup runs from reliable commuter chains to DLC-coated race chains used by WorldTour professionals. DLC — Diamond Like Carbon — is an ultra-hard coating applied to the chain plates and pins that reduces friction measurably compared to standard chains and increases resistance to wear and corrosion. The RA Cycles KMC selection covers two main product families. The DLC series is KMC’s performance ceiling: DLC12, DLC11, and DLC10 chains all receive the full Diamond Like Carbon treatment and are available in black with multiple color-accent options. The X series covers 9- through 12-speed drivetrains across a range of price points, with the X12 available in Aurora oil-slick, gold/black, gold, and silver finishes, and the X11SL in gold. The E11 is built for the higher torque loads of e-bike drivetrains.
