Colnago Steelnovo Shimano Di2 Custom Bike Info
Classic Ride Feel, Modern Race-Day Precision
Steel doesn’t have to be “retro.” This bike is proof that classic ride feel can live inside a clean, modern silhouette—and still hit like a real performance machine.
The Steelnovo is Colnago doing steel the Colnago way: Columbus steel tubes, precision 3D-printed steel lugs, and that “how is this even steel?” finish thanks to hidden, smoothed weld work. The cables are fully integrated, so the look is as modern as any top carbon road bike.
The frame, in plain English
- Columbus steel + 3D-printed steel lugs for precision alignment and a legendary ride feel.
- Hidden, smoothed weld aesthetic that looks modern and clean.
- Fully integrated cable routing for a modern cockpit and clean lines.
- Disc brakes for confident braking in real conditions.
- T47-86 bottom bracket for stiffness and serviceability.
- Thru-axles: 12x100 (front) / 12x142 (rear) for modern wheel compatibility.
- Max tire width: 700x35 for comfort, grip, and all-road versatility.
- 27.2mm round seatpost required (we’ll help you choose the right one).
Shimano Di2: clean shifting, calm confidence
This build is centered around Shimano Di2—known for precise, reliable electronic shifting that stays consistent ride after ride. It’s the kind of upgrade you feel immediately, especially on climbs, sprint efforts, and long days when you just want perfect shifts every time.
In our Custom Bike Builder, you’ll be able to customize between:
- Shimano Ultegra Di2 (R8150): a perfect performance/value balance with fast, accurate shifting for big mileage.
- Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 (R9250): the top tier—lighter, sharper, and built for riders who want the best Shimano offers.
Modern Di2 keeps the cockpit clean: the shift levers communicate wirelessly, while the derailleurs run off an internal battery for an efficient, dependable system.
Your bike, your way (and if you don’t see it… ask)
Our Custom Bike Builder is designed to keep things visual and simple—but it won’t always show every possible wheelset, cockpit option, gearing combo, or finishing detail. If you want something you don’t see, ask anyway. Email, chat, or call—there’s a lot we can do outside the tool.
Timeline + sourcing note (important)
The builder does not account for parts lead times or the full schedule to build the bike. Some parts are in-stock and easy. Others can be special order, and that can add time.
What happens after checkout
After you place your order, an RA Custom Studios consultant will reach out by email or phone to confirm the final build, collect a few key details to match the bike to your riding style, and review realistic timelines for sourcing and assembly.
Your card will stay in an authorization state after checkout. We will not charge your card until we’ve connected with you, reviewed timing, and you approve the final setup. If any items are special order, we’ll tell you up front—special orders can cause delays.
Pricing includes pro assembly + QC
All pricing includes professional assembly, processing, and full quality control before delivery. This is RA-level finish work—built to be trusted, not just built to be “done.”
