The Fizik Aliante R1 Open Saddle has a classic curved shape, carbon rails, and a cut-out in the hot zone to reduce pressure on your undercarriage.
The Aliante is the most curved saddle shape in Fizik’s lineup. Fans like how it guides them to a particular position on the perch. Fizik, with their Spine Concept theory, designates this saddle for Bulls: people who have low back flexibility and high pelvic rotation, but if you have a preference for curved seats, your body knows better regardless of where you fit in the Spine Concept continuum.
The saddle is 276mm long by 141mm wide in Regular and 275 x 153mm in Large. The cut-out is wider than you’ll find on other Open saddles; this is because it works best with the shape of the saddle. The R1 designation is their lightest iteration, with 7x9mm carbon braided rails for light weight and carbon-reinforced nylon composite shell.
The rest of the saddle is built as you’d expect from Fizik. They cover the shell, save the cut-out, with comfort core foam. Then they cover the foam with Microtex, a tough, light, weather-resistant synthetic leather.
The Fizik logo in back covers their integrated clip system for lights and bags.
