The Cannondale Topstone Carbon 5 is a performance gravel bike with a lightweight carbon frame that can take on any challenge on or off the road. The Topstone is the first gravel bike on the market with a proper rear suspension, making it as comfortable off the road as it is capable on the road. While the Topstone aims to provide a compliant feel with that suspension, it is also incredibly fast thanks to the stiff and lightweight carbon frame as well as responsive pedaling input and power transfer. This version of the Cannondale Topstone combines outstanding performance with affordability for the adventurous rider.
The main talking point on the Cannondale Topstone is the innovative rear suspension. The 30mm KingPin suspension is a simple system with thru-axle pivot that connects the seatstays to one another. The pivot sits between a pair of bumpers in the seat tube. Overall, this system allows for a total of 30mm of travel. Despite all this added shock absorption, the feel of this suspension is subtle and will not get in the way of fast riding. It is simply there to give you the confidence to tackle obstacles at high speeds without dealing with annoying vibrations. The Kingpin lets you ride harder on dirt than you ever have on a gravel bike.
A unique geometry is also implemented in the Cannondale Topstone to further set it apart as a step forward in gravel technology. Cannondale calls this Endurance Fit which keeps you low enough to feel like you are on a fast road bike but not without the aggression that could compromise your comfort and endurance feel. It also contains an OutFront Steering fork that places the front wheel further in front. That extra-long wheelbase gives riders extra stability through endurance terrain and around tight corners. With this diverse geometry, you will feel capable off the road and comfortable on it.
The incredibly stable Cannondale Topstone features short 415mm chainstays and clearance for tires from 700c to 650b. With these options, you will be ready to conquer anything with no compromises. It is also convenient with tability to add a dropper post and speed release thru axles. Fender mounts are available as well so you can protect your tires from the elements. Disc brakes are the standard on this bike for powerful and modulated stopping and heat dissipation in all conditions. This version of the Topstone is equipped with a Shimano GRX groupset for high-end gravel-specific shifting. The Cannondale Topstone Carbon is a revolutitonary gravel bike like no other.
