Discover the Legacy of Yeti Cycles: Pioneers in Mountain Biking Innovation

Founded in 1985 by John Parker, Yeti Cycles has been at the forefront of mountain bike innovation for decades. The company's first model, the FRO (For Racing Only), was crafted from aircraft-grade 4130 chromoly tubing and designed with input from professional racers. This commitment to performance and racing established Yeti's reputation early on.

In 1990, Yeti introduced the C-26, one of the first mountain bikes to incorporate carbon fiber, developed in collaboration with Easton. Although produced in limited numbers, the C-26 was ahead of its time and was ridden by legends like Juli Furtado and John Tomac in the first World Championships in Durango, Colorado.

Throughout the 1990s, Yeti continued to push boundaries with models like the ARCA.R.C.-AS, and the Ultimate, which featured innovative designs and materials that influenced the entire industry. Collaborations with motorcycle legend Mert Lawwill led to groundbreaking downhill bikes like the Lawwill DH-4 and DH-6, advancing suspension technology and performance.

In the early 2000s, Yeti launched the ASR series, marking a significant shift with the introduction of lightweight, efficient full-suspension bikes suitable for cross-country and trail riding. The 575 model pioneered the all-mountain category, offering a perfect balance between uphill efficiency and downhill capability.

A major leap came in 2011 with the introduction of Switch Technology on the SB66, utilizing an eccentric pivot mechanism to improve suspension performance. This was further refined into the Switch Infinity system, debuting on the SB5 in 2015, providing exceptional pedaling efficiency and smoothness over rough terrain.

Yeti's dedication to racing has been unwavering, with athletes like Jared Graves and Richie Rude achieving world championships on Yeti bikes. Models like the SB6 and SB5.5 have become synonymous with enduro excellence, featuring progressive geometry and advanced carbon construction.

Today, Yeti Cycles continues to innovate with a focus on high-performance mountain bikes that cater to riders who demand the best. With a rich heritage rooted in racing and a relentless pursuit of technological advancement, Yeti remains a leader in the mountain biking world.
